Houston Insurance for Seniors
Houston insurance for Seniors includes Medicare, which is a federal health insurance program for people ages 65 years and older. Medicare pays for much of your health care, but not all of it, which is why we, at Childres Insurance Group, offer supplemental insurance for seniors to help defray the expenses left over after Medicare pays their part. Costs which may not be covered by your Medicare health coverage could include prescription drugs, deductibles and co-insurance.
Childres Insurance Group supplies Medicare Supplements, which are health insurance policies sold by private heath insurance companies to fill the "gaps" in Medicare coverage. For more information or to receive a quote for Medicare Supplements in Houston, please fill out our online Medicare quote form. Also, please feel free to just give us a call today at (888) 491-6273. Learn more about: What is a Medigap policy?
We want to help you in making an informed decision regarding your insurance policies so that you can be comfortable with the choices you make and know that you are receiving the most effective insurance for seniors, or other form of insurance that you purchase through Childres Insurance Group.
A Medigap policy (Medicare Supplemental Insurance) is health insurance sold by private insurance companies to fill the gaps in the original Medicare Plan coverage. Medigap policies help pay some of the health care costs that the Original Medicare Plan doesn't cover. If you are in the original Medicare Plan and have a Medigap policy, then Medicare and your Medigap policy will pay both their shares of covered health care costs.
You may be able to choose up to 12 different standardized Medigap policies for coverage (Medigap Plans A through L). Medigap policies must follow Federal and State laws that have been created to protect you, the insurance policy holder. A Medigap policy must be clearly identified on the cover as Medicare Supplement Insurance. Each Medigap plan has a different set of benefits. Insurance companies can only sell you a standardized Medigap policy. These Medigap policies must all have specific benefits so you can compare them easily.
Your actual costs with each insurance policy may vary, therefore it is important to compare the Medigap policies that are available to you. The benefits in any Medigap Plan A through L are the same for any insurance company. Each insurance company decides which Medigap policies it wants to sell.
Generally, when you buy a Medigap policy you must have Medicare Part A and Part B. You will have to pay the monthly Medicare Part B premium. Additionally, you will have to pay a premium to the Medigap insurance company.
You and your spouse must each buy separate Medigap policies as your Medigap policy won't cover any health care costs for your spouse and vice versa.
